Product Story
The Perfect Balance of Elasticity and Conductivity
In the world of heating materials, precise control of resistivity determines temperature control accuracy and energy efficiency. By precisely adjusting the copper-zinc ratio, CIVEN high-precision brass foil keeps resistivity stable within 6.5–8.0 μΩ·cm with minimal batch-to-batch variation. For PTC heaters and electric heating films that require strict temperature control, this means more consistent performance and higher yields.
But brass foil's appeal goes far beyond its electrical properties. The Cu-Zn alloy gives the material a unique "memory elasticity": it returns to its original shape after repeated deformation, with uniform and consistent spring-back. This makes it an ideal base material for components with frequent mechanical action, such as precision spring contacts, connector terminals and shielding cans.
Unlike common brass foils on the market, CIVEN uses the rolled-annealed (RA) process, giving the material a fibrous rather than columnar crystal structure. This fundamental microstructural difference brings two key advantages: much better resistance to fatigue bending, and a smoother surface with far fewer pinhole defects.
Every roll of brass foil we ship undergoes dual surface treatment: degreasing + passivation. Degreasing ensures consistent bonding for subsequent coating and lamination, while passivation keeps the material from oxidizing or discoloring at transient temperatures of 110°C, which is especially important for reflow soldering or hot-pressing processes.
