Where Conductivity Meets Environmental Protection: The Smart Dual-Layer Design
In many real-world applications, engineers face a seemingly contradictory requirement: the material must retain copper's excellent electrical and thermal conductivity while remaining stable for the long term in humid, salt spray or chemical environments. Pure copper foil performs perfectly in dry indoor conditions, but once exposed to high humidity or salt-laden air, surface oxidation and corrosion quickly raise contact resistance and reduce heat dissipation efficiency.
CIVEN anti-corrosion nickel-plated copper foil was developed to resolve exactly this contradiction. High-quality rolled copper foil forms the functional core and carries most of the current and heat; a dense nickel protective film is applied on the surface by precision electroplating. This nickel barrier completely shuts out external corrosive factors while having almost no impact on overall conductivity.
Compared with using stainless steel or nickel alloy throughout, this "copper core + nickel skin" composite structure strikes the optimal balance between cost and performance: copper provides far higher electrical and thermal conductivity than nickel (copper's conductivity is about 4 times that of nickel), while the thin nickel plating delivers a leap in durability at minimal extra cost.
CIVEN offers a range of plating thicknesses from 0.3 to 2.0 microns. Thinner plating (0.3–0.5 μm) suits light protection needs, balancing cost and basic oxidation resistance; thicker plating (1.0–2.0 μm) withstands harsh salt spray and long-term outdoor exposure. Total thickness ranges from 12 to 150 microns, with widths up to 600 mm, adapting flexibly to a wide range of applications.
